Tanjung Peropa Wildlife Reserve

Tanjung Peropa Wildlife Reserve comprises an area of 38,000 ha near Kendari in South-East Sulawesi province. The peninsular is relatively flat and consists of mangrove forest and shrub-brush forest. More inland the terrain is hilly with non-Dipterocarp forest.

Sulawesi dwarf cuscus - Strigocuscus celebensis; Booted macaque - Macaca ochreata; Lowland anoa - Bubalus depressicornis; Rusa deer - Cervus timorensis; Wild boar - Sus scrofa.

Common Kingfisher - Alcedo atthis; White-headed Stilt - Himantopus leucocephalus; Little Tern - Sterna albifrons; Whiskered Tern - Chlidonias hybridus; Osprey - Pandion haliaetus; Oriental Darter - Anhinga melanogaster; Little Black Cormorant - Phalacrocorax sulcirostris; Rufous Night-Heron - Nycticorax caledonicus; Great-billed Heron - Ardea sumatrana; Great Egret - Ardea alba; Woolly-necked Stork - Ciconia episcopus.

Water Monitor - Varanus salvator; Estuarine Crocodile - Crocodylus porosus.
