MATA OSU HUNTING PARK

 
     
  A. Legal base, location, and space  
 

Mata Osu Forest of 5.000 ha has become a hunting park since September 2, 1996 on the basis of recommendation of Governor of South East Sulawesi no. 522.51/3558. This area is located in BUKARI (BUton, KolaKA, KendaRI) which is administratively part of Watubangga Sub-district, Kolaka District. Management of Mata Osu Hunting Park is under the authority of RPH Toari, BKPH Mekongga, KPH-CDK Kolaka.

 
  C. Accessibility  
 

mata Osu Hunting Park can be accessed from Kendari via Kolaka ( ± 280 km). It is about 5 - 6 hours by car.

 
  D. Problems  
 

A survey of potency of flora and fauna is not yet conduted so far. Therefore, the government only determine wild pig (Sus spp.) as the object for hunting, on the other hand, deer is the favorite.
